Will Volkswagen recover after the emissions issue? This may be the question in your mind if you have been keenly following the Volkswagen emission scandal. The reputation of any company is very important. Once you destroy your good reputation, it will take a lot of time to recover.

There are many companies that do not recover after a scandal. There are many companies that have been through what Volkswagen is going through now but managed to bounce back. Volkswagen is one of the vehicle manufacturing companies that already had a great reputation all over the world. The recovery of Volkswagen after the emission scandal depends on the steps that the company is going to take.

The company already admitted to using software to manipulate emission from their vehicles. Volkswagen can bounce back to if the company learns from what the companies that bounced back before did. Here are the most important things that the companies that bounced back did;

  1. They took immediate action

After a scandal, it is important for a company to take immediate action. This helps to show the world that the company takes what happened seriously. Volkswagen has already done a number of things to show the world that it takes the scandal very seriously. The Chief Executive Officer who was in charge when the scandal was revealed already stepped down. A new CEO has been appointed. The company has also promised to cooperate with the authorities. This actions show that the company has recognized its mistakes and they want to fix it. However, the company has to do more.

  1. They focused on proving their authenticity to their customers

At the moment, Volkswagen has no choice but focus rebuilding its image. This is something that many companies that recovered from scandals did. Volkswagen can only achieve this when it works hard to show the world that it is authentic. It has to prove to the world that all the cars coming out of their assembly line are authentic. Volkswagen has made an effort to show the world that it is committed to get to the bottom of the matter and that it is ready to handle the consequences of the scandal. The company wants to equip it cars in Europe with a technology that helps to reduce the emissions of NOx.

  1. They implemented process that aim to prevent the reoccurrence of the scandal or a similar scandal

Volkswagen must implement procedures and policies that aim to prevent another emission scandal or any other similar scandal from happening. Some procedures and policies are currently being implemented by Volkswagen.
